EV charger installations
EV charger installations tailored to your home
Tesla and universal chargers, installed for the way your home is actually wired. We assess panel capacity, plan the route, and tell you upfront whether your service can handle the charger you want.
- Tesla-compatible installation
- Universal charger experience
- Load calc included

What we work through on every EV install
Every home charges differently. The right install depends on the panel, the run length, and where the car actually parks.
- Detached-garage runs that need a trenched or overhead feed
- Driveway installs with no garage to mount inside
- Shared-property setups — condos, ADUs, duplexes with one service
- Panel-capacity questions before you commit to a 40A or 60A charger
- Tesla Wall Connector wiring and commissioning
- Universal J1772 / NACS chargers for non-Tesla EVs and mixed households
How it works
Our 3-step process.
Assessment and load calc
We look at your panel, your service size, where the car parks, and how you actually use power at home. Then we tell you what charger size your service can support without an upgrade — and what would change if you wanted faster charging.
Plan and quote
You get a fixed-scope estimate covering the charger, the conductor, the breaker, conduit, permits, and any panel work. We explain why each line is there — not a flat 'EV install' number with no detail.
Install, inspection, and walkthrough
We run the circuit, install and commission the charger, schedule the inspection, and walk you through pairing the app, setting amperage limits, and using scheduled charging.
Why EV owners pick CaliSpark
EV-charger specialization
EV installs aren't a side service for us. We've done detached-garage feeds, driveway pedestals, and shared-property setups — and we know what to flag before you order the charger.
Tesla-compatible, brand-agnostic
Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Emporia, hardwired J1772 — we install what fits your car and your panel, not what we have a preferred brand deal on.
Honest about what your panel can do
If your service can't support a 60A charger without an upgrade, we'll say so before you commit. We explain what we're doing and why, every step of the way.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Do I need to upgrade my panel before installing an EV charger?
Sometimes, but not always. It depends on your service size and what else is running on the panel. The load calculation we run during the assessment will tell you exactly what your service can support — and whether a panel upgrade is worth bundling with the install.
Do you install Tesla Wall Connectors?
Yes. We install Tesla Wall Connectors and universal J1772 / NACS chargers from ChargePoint, Wallbox, Emporia, and other brands. We're brand-agnostic — we'll help you pick the right unit for your car and your panel.
Can you install a charger if my parking is outside, with no garage?
Yes. Driveway and outdoor installs are common in San Diego — we mount the charger on a weather-rated enclosure or pedestal and run the circuit cleanly from the panel. We'll walk through the route options on-site.
What about condos, duplexes, or ADUs on a shared service?
Shared-property installs need extra planning around how the circuit is metered and which panel it lands on. We work through those setups regularly — bring us the HOA or property-manager constraints and we'll plan around them.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger?
Yes — every San Diego County jurisdiction we work in requires a permit for a Level 2 EV charger circuit. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and meet the inspector on-site.
